A THRILLER WITH A FRESH TWIST AND DARK HUMOR

“Smart, riotously funny and with its tongue firmly in its cheek.”
-John Marrs, bestselling author of The One. Now a TV series.

“The reader cannot look away. And that twist – stunning work by this author.”
-Jonas Saul, international bestselling author of the Sarah Roberts Series.

DO NOT GET ON HER NAUGHTY LIST

JoDi is an admin for the world’s largest genre-specific Facebook reading group. It’s her second family, and NO ONE messes with her family. When naughty members take it too far and end up on her ANNIHILATE list, the dark side takes over, and she carries out cruel revenge, using social media as a grand tool. JoDi enjoys long walks in the park, volunteering at nursing homes, driving cancer patients to their appointments, and chopping up body parts. Her own life has always been a mystery to her, and when she gets close to finding answers from an unlikely source, her world begins to crumble—then murder becomes the least of her problems.

THIS IS A TRUE STORY, EXCEPT FOR ALL THE PARTS THAT AREN’T TRUE

PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER
NO ANIMAL ABUSE

Best Book Editors Review

This one surprised me. The author is the admin of one of the biggest groups on Facebook and was inspired to write it from her experience as an admin. It references many of her members–disguised with new names presumably, though I don’t know that for sure.

I underestimated this book. I expected it to be a bit of a novelty read and you’d have to be ‘in the know’ to get it. A, ‘see how many members you recognise,’ book. But I don’t recognise anybody because I don’t know any of them. However, that isn’t the case at all, this book is a great read for any psychological thriller fan and every character stands as just that—a character in a book like any other. I had no qualms about giving it 5-stars, it’s great. In fact, this book is brilliant and in my Top-5 reads of the Year, so far.

It’s like getting into a canoe so it can take you shooting down the rapids. You have to get into it first … and I did it in less than two pages. For this story to work for you, you have to feel the narrator and get into her head. Because of the clever writing style, it’s fast-paced and I zipped through the first 50 pages (without taking a breath that I didn’t know I was holding). I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.

The writing is stream-of-consciousness and carries you on the tide of the contradictory torrent of sharp, concise insanity through the narrator’s words. Because our character is sensible in her madness, she’s capable and clever with an underlay of cunning, we believe in her without question. The characters are wholesome and we don’t like some of them. The description of the places she visits takes you along with her. The narrator is the ultimate bad guy, but we’re rooting for her every step of the way. Even the little rhymes she makes up for each of her victims are endearing.

The premise is clever. Through garnering her victims nationwide and from all walks of life, there is nothing to tie her to them—except the group. It’s great that the mean girls get their comeuppance in this story.

I loved it. It’s a cracking, well-written book told in an authentic voice that never slips once.

Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilariously dark

This is going to be the most bizzare review I give because the words that come to mind when thinking about this book is that it’s hilariously dark. I really needed a break from the heavy and twisted thrillers I’ve read this year and Chris did not disappoint. I completely get the mixed reviews but I stand by this book being a “trust the process” book and I’m so glad I trusted it.

If anyone is looking for a thriller that is filled with inside jokes, some insight into the ridiculous things the admins of this group most likely deal with and a twist of murder, read it. I kept stopping myself mid chuckle because it’s wild to be laughing about a serial killer.

X Members of the FB Group by Chris Colmenero is a fun and not-so-serious thriller full of dark humour and great tongue in cheek references joked about in the real psychological thriller’s group on FB. (I am a recently new member). The book is about JoDi, an admin for the psychological thriller Facebook group. It’s her second family, and NO ONE messes with her family. She definitely takes her admin duties seriously lol. I definitely enjoyed this book and did not expect the ending at all. A great read indeed.

Loved the quirky Jodi and all she got into managing her FB thriller group. This book was a lot of fun. A few things I didn’t see coming were thrown into the mix. Jodi is taking her responsibility as an admin seriously. Maybe a bit too seriously. This book is based off a real FB Thriller Book Group, and is so much fun that it will have you rolling and maybe even hiding from Jodi if you’re in the groopy group. I mean, I’m writing this review from under my bed right now and I’m definitely keeping all my comments in the group nicey nice!! If you haven’t grabbed this book, go do it now. What are you waiting for? GO.. download now before Jodi sees you didn’t! (JK ..but really go get her book.) If you love thrillers, suspense and dark humor then this is your book. I’ve enjoyed both of Chris Colmenero’s books and hoping for more books from this new up and coming author.
